DBS Breakout 2025
Travelling together: A day full of technology and hidden talents
Once a year, DBS encourages its employees to leave the office and engage in a shared experience. At this year's "DBS Breakout" the entire team enjoyed a diverse day filled with exciting impressions, meaningful conversations and plenty of fun.
Journey through the history of IT at the Nixdorf Museum
We started with a joint breakfast, during which the anticipation for the as yet unknown program was noticable. Well fortified, we then took the bus to Paderborn to visit the world's largest computer museum. During a guided tour of the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, we were able to immerse ourselves in the history of information and communication technology: from the beginnings of writing and the world's first calculation error, through the milestones of computer development, to current topics such as robotics and artificial intelligence. The HNF is not just a museum, but a living place to encounter the history of technology. It was opened in 1996 and is based on an idea by computer pioneer Heinz Nixdorf. Today, the museum showcases the history, present and future of information technology in over 6,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Focus on artificial intelligence
After lunch, we heared an exciting presentation by Thorsten Ising, an experienced expert in digital communication and social media. In his presentation on "AI in everyday working life", he provided practical insights into the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in companies. The subsequent discussion showed how diverse the perspectives are within our team - from initial experiences to visionary ideas.
Off to the water: action and fun at Nesthauser Lake
In the afternoon, it was time for some sports: at Nesthauser Lake, many of our colleagues ventured out onto the water. Whether water skiing, wakeboarding or mono-skiing, some hidden talents came to light. The focus was clearly on having fun and everyone cut a fine figure.
The event concluded with a cozy barbecue buffet on the lakeshore before everyone headed back to Sendenhorst together. We also welcomed our new colleagues Michael Kraus, Tobias Stichling and Elias Nickel, our new dual student - welcome to the team!
A big thank you goes to our organizer Bianca and our two Managing Directors for this fun and successful day. We are already looking forward to next year!
