DBS Breakout 2026

A day full of interaction and team spirit

The DBS team got together again this year for their traditional Breakout day. The goal was simple: spend time together, exchange ideas outside the daily routine and build stronger connections as a team.

"Forest worlds" at the Gasometer in Oberhausen

The first stop took the team to Oberhausen and the Gasometer, where they visited the “Forest Worlds” exhibition. A guided tour gave them a closer look at forests from both a local and global perspective. They learned about the role forests play in the climate, how they function as habitats and how different cultures see them. Large-scale photo installations and immersive displays brought the diversity and beauty of forests to life.

Another highlight was the observation deck of the gasometer, 117 meters above ground. Some team members decided to take the stairs and made their way to the top on foot. Once there, they were rewarded with a great view over Oberhausen.

After taking in so much, the group headed to a cozy beer garden for lunch. The relaxed setting made it easy to chat and get to know each other better.

Action and fun at Topgolf

In the afternoon, things became more active. The team visited a Topgolf facility, where players aim golf balls at different targets across a large field. Points are based on distance and accuracy, so it is easy for beginners to join in and still have fun. Everyone took part and showed what they could do.

Special congratulations go to our top three performers: Maik Erdmann, Jascha Trantow and Marius Keweloh, who hit their targets with impressive precision.

After the game, the group headed back to Sendenhorst and wrapped up the day together at the restuarant Börse with a delicious schnitzel buffet.

A special thanks

A big thank you goes to our colleague Bianca Kramer, who once again organized a varied program this year. We’d also like to thank our Managing Directors, Kalle Wellsow and Matthias Koch, who make this event possible every year.

The DBS Breakout shows just how valuable it is to meet in person. Shared experiences bring people closer and create space for conversations that often get lost in the busy workday.
